Frozen Mimosas
While I definitely did not invent the idea of frozen beverages, I did create these totally easy and delicious frozen mimosas just for you lovely followers. They are made with just two ingredients and totally customizable. I went traditional with orange juice but literally any fruit juice would be great. I love blood orange in cocktails and would love to try these out with blood orange juice instead one day! You can also switch up what kind of champagne or sparkling wine you want to use. They would be delicious with a sparkling rose or a brut champagne! You could even add a little vodka or rum if you are really looking for a good time. I didn’t attempt that but the sky is the limit with this recipe.
What makes it frozen?
So the first step in making these frozen mimosas is freezing your juice in ice trays. Doing this the day before is best. A regular ice tray holds about two cups of liquid. While I made just enough to make four drinks, feel free to double or triple this amount depending on how big of a crowd you plan on serving. Two cups of orange juice was enough for one ice cube tray. Stick in the freezer and hang tight until you are ready to serve and they are completely frozen.
Blend, blend, blend!
Once you are ready to serve simply toss your frozen juice cubes and your champagne of choice into a high speed blender. For every full ice tray you use, use 250 ml of champagne. A traditional sized bottle contains about 750 ml so if you plan on using the entire bottle of champagne make three ice trays using the juice of your choice. Let me know what delicious combinations you come up with and stay cool my friends!
